Featured Athlete: Dr. Adam Shunk

When Adam Shunk first came to Codrington Enterprises he was a 2.23m high jumper studying for his doctorate in Neuropsychology, which left little time for training. After joining CE’s roster of athletes, Adam took part in a series of high-level competitions arranged by CE. Adam improved his personal best by 2cm in his first season.

Adam has proven to be a very good high jumper, capitalizing on any opportunity presented to him. His best is now 2.30m and he was the 2006 US Indoor High Jump Champion, representing the USA at the 2006 World Indoor Championships in Moscow, Russia.

Currently, Adam has attained some additional heights. In 2006 Adam signed a contract with Nike, got married and finished his doctoral studies. After doing his practical training in the field of Neuropsychology, Adam was awarded his Ph.D. in 2007. Despite his hectic schedule, Adam still finished 2nd at the 2007 US Championships and just missed the “A” standard for the high jump that would have enabled him to compete at the World Championships in Osaka, Japan. However, Adam did represent the USA at the NACAC Championships as well as the Pan American Games, winning the first one and finishing 5th in the latter.

Join us at Codrington Enterprises in congratulating Adam Shunk on his achievements and his story of success on many fronts.
