He attended the University of Texas at El Paso where he earned a degree in Kinesiology and Spanish. Henderson’s high jump career actually started on the basketball court. When his secondary school coach realized how well he could jump, Henderson switched to track! Henderson met his goal and jumped a new national record in 2008 and is only 2cm short of a qualifying height for the Olympics in Beijing. He also plans to qualify for the 2009 World Championships, and earn a world ranking. Henderson uses his spare time to learn all he can about jumping. After his jump career has ended Henderson wants to pass on his knowledge of jumping as a coach.
