Personal: Jamil was born on May 12, 1986 in Atlanta, Georgia and did not start running track until his junior year in high school. Jamil attended Wallace State Junior College in Hanceville, Alabama before going to Mississippi State and improving to become the 2007 SEC champion in his pet event, the 400m. He is finishing his degree in Physchology and expects to be ranked in the top 5 in the world over 400m
